Governor/PG&E: While Critical of PG&E, Newsom Didn’t Say ‘No’ to Political Contributions

By Published On: October 26, 2019

Governor Newsom may have a problem on his hands. While he has been critical of PG&E, he has remained quiet about how much he took from them in political contributions.

Newsom’s 2018 campaign took $58,400 from PG&E, and the political spending group, “Citizens Supporting Gavin Newsom for Governor 2018,” took $150,000. That’s a total of $208,400.

Yesterday, Newsom tweeted, “I have a message for PG&E: Your years and years of greed. Years and years of mismanagement. Years and years of putting shareholders over people. Are OVER.”

Will he also tweet that he will offer up the $208,400 to fire victims? We’ll keep you posted.
